WYATT TO BRYAN, FROM HIS PRISON.
The summer of my hope is ded,
Whyche made my daies, so passing fayre:
Now Hope no more may lift her hed,
Sore chilled by wynter of despayre.
Whyche made my daies, so passing fayre:
Now Hope no more may lift her hed,
Sore chilled by wynter of despayre.
112
But, Bryan, my dark prison doore
Doest boast of lyght when thou dost come;
Syth Frendshipp's sun hath beames a store,
To make a palace of a tombe.
Doest boast of lyght when thou dost come;
Syth Frendshipp's sun hath beames a store,
To make a palace of a tombe.
Then come, and Frendshipp's beame y spred,
And I'll forget that Hope is ded.
And I'll forget that Hope is ded.
