The President proposed and the Board adopted the following resolution

RESOLVED by the Board of Visitors of The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the
following persons be and they are hereby elected to the faculty

Mr. Douglas W. Alden as Professor of French, effective 1 September 1963, at a salary of $17,600.

Mr. Manuel R. Angulo as Lecturer in Law, for one semester, effective 1 February 1963, at a salary
of $750

Mr. James H. Bash as Assistant Professor of Education, for three years, effective 1 September 1963,
at a salary of $7,600

Mr. Neil H. Borden, Jr. as Assistant Professor of Business Administration, for three years, effective
1 September 1963, at a salary of $8,800.

Mr. Edwin S. Cohen as Lecturer in Law, for one year, effective 1 September 1963, at a salary of
$1,500

Mr. James R. Connor as Assistant Professor of History, for three years, effective 1 August 1963,
at a salary of $8,500 plus 20 per cent for summer work and $1,000 for administrative duties.

Mr. Thomas S. Currier as Associate Professor of Law, for three years, effective 1 February 1964,
at a salary of $9,600.

Mr. Ernest Dale as Visiting Lecturer in Business Administration, for one year, effective
1 September 1963

Mr. Ralph C. Elwood as Visiting Assistant Professor of History, for one semester, effective
1 February 1964

Miss Jacqueline J. Jackson as Assistant Professor of Nursing, for three years, effective
1 September 1963

Mr. Jose Jurado as Lecturer in Modern Languages, for one year, effective 1 September 1963, at
a salary of $7,300.

Dr. Theodore E. Keats as Professor of Radiology, effective 1 September 1963, at a salary of
$28,000

Mr. Majid Khadduri as Visiting Professor of Foreign Affairs, part time, for one year, effective
1 September 1963, at a salary of $7,500

Mr. DeForest Mellon, Jr. as Assistant Professor of Biology, for three years, effective 1 September
1963, at a salary of $7,600.

Mr. Ronald P. Melnik as Lecturer in Business Administration, for one year, effective 1 September
1963, at a salary of $6,600.

Mr. Richard R. Mertz as Visiting Assistant Professor of History, for one year, effective 1 September
1963, at a salary of $8,200.

Mr. Eugene B. Piedmont as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry (Sociology) in the School of Medicine
and Lecturer in Sociology in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, for one year, effective 1 August 1963,
at a salary of $10,000.

Dr. Leslie E. Rudolf as Assistant Professor of Surgery, for three years, effective 1 August 1963,
at a salary of $16,500.
