SALARY INCREASES FOR THE PRESIDENT AND CHANCELLOR OF MARY WASHINGTON
COLLEGE

The following resolution was adopted:

• WHEREAS out of the limited funds at the disposal of Governor Godwin he has authorized increases in the salaries of the President of the University and of the Chancellor of Mary Washington College;
• WHEREAS these increases afford concrete evidence of the abiding interest of Governor Godwin in the cause of education and of his recognition of the need for quality as well as quantity of instruction;
• NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that we hereby express to Governor Godwin our appreciation of his finding funds for these increases and our hope that he will recommend further increments to the next session of the General Assembly.
