LEAVES OF ABSENCE
The following resolution was adopted:
- RESOLVED by the Board of Visitors of The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the following faculty members be and they are hereby granted leave of absence:
- Mr. George E. Boyd, Professor of Chemistry and Member of the Center for Advanced Studies in the Sciences, for the period 1 September 1966 through 31 December 1966, without pay, to complete research under way at Oak Ridge National Laboratories.
- Mr. James M. Buchanan, Paul G. McIntire Professor of Economics, for the period 1 February 1967 through 30 June 1967, without pay, to serve as Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics.
- Mr. William O. Freithaler, Assistant Professor of Economics, for the period 1 September 1966 through 31 January 1967, without pay, to engage in economic research in Latin America.
- Mr. Billy J. Gilpin, Assistant Professor of Applied Mathematics, School of Engineering and Applied Science, for the period 1 September 1966 through 31 January 1967, without pay, to complete work toward a doctoral degree at North Carolina State University.
