ACTIONS RELATING TO CHAIRHOLDERS

The following resolution was adopted:

• RESOLVED that the actions relating to chairholders are approved as shown below:
• (a) Election of Chairholders
• Ms. Anita K. Jones as University Professor, effective July 1, 1997. Ms. Jones will continue as Professor of Computer Science.
• Mr. Robert A. Moore, Jr. as Brenton S. Halsey Visiting Professor of Chemical Engineering, for the period January 16, 1997 through May 31, 1997.
• Mr. Carl P. Zeithaml as F. S. Cornell Professor of Free Enterprise, effective July 1, 1997.
• (b) Special Salary Action of Chairholders Deleted
• (c) Retirements of Chairholders
• The following retirements were announced:
• Mr. Neil H. Borden, Richard S. Reynolds Professor of Business Administration, effective May 31, 1997. Mr. Borden has been a member of the faculty since July 1, 1963.
• Mr. Robert T. Denomme, Douglas Huntly Gordon Professor of French Literature, effective May 31, 1997. Mr. Denomme has been a member of the faculty since September 1, 1966.
• Mr, Robert P. Scharlemann, Commonwealth Professor of Religious Studies, effective May 31, 1997. Mr. Scharlemann has been a member of the faculty since September 1, 1981.
• Mr. Alexander Sedgwick, University Professor, effective May 31, 1997. Mr. Sedgwick has been a member of the faculty since September 1, 1963.
• Dr. David D. Stone, Distinguished Professor of Internal Medicine, effective February 28, 1997. Dr. Stone has been a member of the faculty since July 1, 1963.
