APPROVAL OF ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY FOR HEALTH SCIENCES CENTER PARKING STRUCTURE AND STORMWATER MANAGEMENT PROJECTS

The following resolution was adopted:

  • WHEREAS, the University wishes to purchase real estate located at 334 and 214 15th Street, S.W., Charlottesville from Lillian E. Flora and 212 15th Street, S.W., Charlottesville from Charlie R. Flora, Sr., for a total purchase price of $975,000 for use in support of the Health Sciences Center Parking Structure and Stormwater Management projects; and
  • WHEREAS, the University wishes to purchase real estate located at 335 15th Street, S.W., Charlottesville from Herbert W. Perkins, III for a purchase price of $200,000 for use in support of the Health Sciences Center Parking Structure and Stormwater Management projects; and
  • WHEREAS, the University wishes to purchase real estate located at 332 15th Street, S.W., Charlottesville, from the University of Virginia Health Services Foundation for an estimated purchase price of $49,500 for use in support of the Health Sciences Center Parking Structure and Stormwater Management projects; and
  • WHEREAS, the University wishes to purchase real estate located 675 feet north of Jefferson Park Avenue along vacated Park Place (currently leased by the University for the U-2 Parking lot) in Charlottesville from the University of Virginia Real Estate Foundation for a purchase price of $1,055,000 for use in support of the Health Sciences Center Parking Structure and Stormwater Management projects; and
  • WHEREAS, in 1996 the General Assembly authorized the acquisition of the aforementioned properties as part of the Health Sciences Center Parking Structure project;
  • RESOLVED that the acquisition of the aforementioned properties are approved by The Board of Visitors.
  • RESOLVED FURTHER that the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer is authorized to execute any and all contracts or documents pertaining to the acquisition of the aforementioned properties.
