NAMING OF THE CENTRAL BUILDING AT THE NEW DARDEN
SCHOOL
The following resolution was adopted:
- WHEREAS, Thomas A. Saunders, III, a member of the Darden Class of 1967, and his wife Mary Jordan Horner Saunders, have given of their time and resources to the University, particularly to the Darden School; and
- WHEREAS, Mr. Saunders is Chairman of the Darden Foundation Board of Trustees and has served as Chairman of the Campaign for Darden (Phase I); and
- WHEREAS, Mrs. Saunders was Chair of both the Committee which organized the Dinner on the Lawn for the public announcement of The Campaign for the University of Virginia, and the organizing committee for the ceremonies celebrating the opening of the new Darden School Grounds; and
- WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Saunders have made a significant financial commitment to the Darden School;
- RESOLVED that the central building at the Darden School be named Saunders Hall.
