RESOLUTION OF THANKS TO THE FAMILY OF ALBERT D. PENICK

The President reported that the University was the recipient of a substantial bequest from the Estate of Albert D. Penick. Mr. Penick received his B.S. degree from the University in 1930.

The following resolution was adopted:

  • WHEREAS, under the will of the late Albert D. Penick, an alumnus of the University of Virginia, Class of 1930, a significant bequest is made to the University for its general uses and purposes, partial distributions from the estate having been already made to the University;
  • NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that acknowledgment be made of the receipt of the bequest under the will of the late Albert D. Penick and of the distributions received to date and that we express to the family of Mr. Penick our sincere thanks for Mr. Penick's contribution which will be so important to the future of the University and direct the Secretary to transmit a copy of this resolution to them as a mark of our deep appreciation.
