AUTHORIZATION FOR ACCEPTANCE OF duPONT GIFT
The Chancellor reported to the Board that Mrs. Jessie Ball duPont (Mrs. Alfred I. duPont) has presented to Mary Washington College 200 shares of the common stock of Columbia Broadcasting System, represented by Stock Certificates Numbers B174036/7 for 100 shares each, the proceeds to be added to the Lalla Gresham Ball Scholarship Fund. Mrs. duPont has requested that no publicity be given this contribution.
The stock power which was enclosed with the certificates assigns them to Mary Washington College, and in order to complete the transfer, the transfer agents require a resolution from the Board authorizing a particular officer of Mary Washington College to carry the transfer through to a conclusion.
The following resolution was therefore adopted:
- RESOLVED by the Board of Visitors of The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that Edgar E. Woodward, Bursar of Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia, be and he is hereby authorized, empowered, and directed to execute, in the name and on behalf of said Mary Washington College, a stock power directing the transfer of 200 shares of the common stock of Columbia Broadcasting System to Hamac and Company.
