THE ELEANOR F. AND PHILIP G. RUST PROFESSORSHIP

The following resolution was adopted:

  • RESOLVED by the Board of Visitors of The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the Eleanor F. and Philip G. Rust Professorship in Business Administration be and it is hereby established in the Graduate School of Business Administration; that the purpose of the Professorship shall be to enrich instruction in the Graduate School of Business Administration with courses, seminars, or points of view that otherwise might not be available in the School; that in furthering this purpose persons from the business world as well as from the academic world shall, on nomination of the Dean of the Graduate School of Business Administration, be eligible for recommendation to the President for election by the Board, as may faculty of the Graduate School of Business Administration, although ordinarily Graduate Business School faculty members shall not be nominated; that a person elected to the Professorship shall not, ordinarily, be elected a second time although election may be either for a single semester or for an academic session; and that the stipend attached to the Rust Professorship shall be in addition to the salary the holder of the Professorship would otherwise receive.
