WAGENHEIM MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

At its meeting on 11 December 1965, the Board established the Michael Lewis Wagenheim Scholarship Fund in memory of the late Michael Lewis Wagenheim, a fourth-year student in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Virginia, who died as the result of an automobile accident on 14 October 1965. The scholarship was established through the efforts of Michael Lewis Wagenheim's father, Jack I. Wagenheim of New York City, and his uncle, Michael B. Wagenheim of Norfolk, both of whom are alumni of the University of Virginia. Subsequent to the establishment of this scholarship fund, and following the death of Michael Lewis Wagenheim's father, Jack I. Wagenheim, Michael B. Wagenheim requested that the name of the fund be changed to the Wagenheim Memorial Scholarship Fund in order that gifts to the fund might be for the purpose of memorializing both the father and the son. Accordingly, the following resolution was adopted:

RESOLVED by the Board of Visitors of The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that, effective 3 June 1966, the name of the Michael Lewis Wagenheim Scholarship Fund be and it is hereby changed to the Wagenheim Memorial Scholarship Fund.
