NAMING OF THE SHANNON CENTER

The following resolution was adopted:

WHEREAS Edgar Finley Shannon, Jr., has served the University with international distinction as Professor of English and as President of the University; and
WHEREAS Mr. Shannon has taken a particular interest in the Center for Advanced Studies, which he brought into being during his tenure as President of the University;
RESOLVED that the Center for Advanced Studies will henceforth be known as the Edgar F. Shannon, Jr., Center for Advanced Studies, and that the University will constitute an appropriate volunteer organization to solicit endowment support for the Shannon Center.
