ESTABLISHMENT OF THE LAWRENCE LEWIS, JR., EMINENT SCHOLAR
PROFESSORSHIP IN ARCHITECTURE

The President proposed the adoption of a resolution creating the Lawrence Lewis, Jr., Eminent Scholar Professorship in Architecture. The Chair, the President said, is being established by friends and relatives of Mr. Lewis to honor his service to the University, service which includes sixteen years as a member of the Board of Visitors.

The following resolution was adopted:

  • RESOLVED that there is hereby established in the School of Architecture a Chair to be known as the Lawrence Lewis, Jr., Eminent Scholar Professorship in Architecture. The Board is grateful to Mr. Fred G. Pollard, Mrs. James L. Wiley, and the Kenan Charitable Trust who made the establishment of this Chair possible.
