Leaves of Absence

The following resolution was adopted:

  • RESOLVED that the following faculty members be and they are hereby granted leave of absence:
  • Ms. Alison Booth, Associate Professor of English, with partial pay, for the period January 16, 1994 through May 31, 1994, to accept a Virginia Foundation for the Humanities Fellowship.
  • Mr. Vittorio Celli, Professor of Physics, without pay, for the period January 16, 1994 through May 31, 1994, to do research.
  • Ms. Georgia H. Childress, Lecturer, General Faculty, without pay, for the period November 4, 1993 through June 30, 1994, for medical reasons.
  • Mr. Dale C. Copeland, Acting Assistant Professor of Government and Foreign Affairs, without pay, for the period September 1, 1993 through May 31, 1994, for educational reasons.
  • Mr. Jon C. Crocker, Professor of Anthropology, with pay, for the period October 13, 1993 through January 15, 1994, for medical reasons.
  • Mr. Ronald D. Fischer, Assistant Professor of Economics, without pay, for the period January 16, 1994 through May 31, 1994, to do research.
  • Mr. Arthur E. Freedlender, Research Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine, without pay, for the period June 1, 1993 through August 31, 1994, for medical reasons.
  • Mr. Charles R. Kaut, Professor of Anthropology, with partial pay, for the period September 1, 1993 through May 31, 1994, to continue to qualify for the incentive retirement plan as approved by the Board of Visitors.
  • Mr. James J. Kauzlarich, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, with partial pay, for the period January 1, 1994 through May 31, 1994, to continue to qualify for the incentive retirement plan as approved by the Board of Visitors.

  • Ms. Justine E. Owens, Research Assistant Professor of Psychiatric Medicine, without pay, for the period October 1, 1993 through November 15, 1993, for personal reasons.
