TERM OF OFFICE OF STUDENT MEMBER

The following resolution was adopted:

WHEREAS as provided in Section 2.21 of the Manual of the Board of Visitors, the student member of the Board of Visitors is elected by the Board at its regular meeting prior to the Annual Meeting;
WHEREAS the elected student member assumes office April 15 and serves until April of the next year; and
WHEREAS this schedule gives little transition time for the orientation of the newly elected student member;
RESOLVED that the present system and schedule for the selection of candidates and election of the student member of the Board shall remain as provided in the Manual. The term of office of the student member, however, shall continue through the subsequent Annual Meeting of the Board, with the student member-elect attending that meeting along with the incumbent student member and assuming office immediately at the conclusion of the Annual Meeting.
