Quaþ otuwel to roulond,
“Whil mi swerd is in min hond,
Al þi preching is for nouȝt,
Hit ne cam neuere in my þout,
Me ne stant nouȝt of þe swich awe,
Þat þou sschalt make me reneie mi lawe,
