As otuwel bi-gan to ride,
He lokede a-bouten in eche side,
& he sauȝ ate laste,
Where Roulond fleyȝ, & oliuer faste.
Otuwel touchede his stedes side,
& aȝein hem he gan ride,
& seide, “turneþ aȝein a non,
& helpeþ to wreke ȝou on ȝoure fon;
Þei sschulle abugge, so mote ich þe,
Þat makeþ ȝou so faste fle.”
