REPORT ON THE ACTION OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE APPROVING THE
DISPLAY OF A STATEMENT OF FORMER PRESIDENT COLGATE W. DARDEN,
JR.
, AT THE COLGATE DARDEN GRADUATE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

The Rector reported that the Executive Committee, acting for the Board of Visitors under Section 13.1-216 of the Code of Virginia on February 16, 1981, adopted the following resolution:

RESOLVED by The Executive Committee of the Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia that the Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia approves the display in a prominent place and fashion in the Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business Administration of the following words:

"...I cannot resist a suggestion which embodies all my hopes for the school. It is that nothing will ever induce us to lay aside the instruction in the ethical foundations of American business. Without a firm attachment to unimpeachable integrity in our business as well as in personal affairs, we build on shifting sands and there can be no future for any of us."
