The following resolution was adopted:

• RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the following persons be and they are hereby elected Professor Emeritus:
• Dr. Julian R. Beckwith, Professor of Internal Medicine.
• Dr. John L. Guerrant, Professor of Internal Medicine.
• Mr. Julian N. Hartt, William R. Kenan, Jr., Professor of Religious Studies.
• Mr. James L. Meem, Professor of Nuclear Engineering.
• Mr. Frank G. Ryder, William R. Kenan, Jr., Professor of German.
• Mr. C. Stewart Sheppard, Professor of Business Administration, The Darden School.
• Mr. Burke M. Smith, Professor of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry.
