The following appointments were announced:

- Mr. C. Knight Aldrich as Member of the Center for Advanced Studies, for three years, effective July 1, 1981.
- Mr. Ralph O. Allen as Director, Office of Environmental Health and Safety, for the period November 4, 1980 through June 30, 1984
- Mr. Rodney L. Biltonen as Associate Dean, School of Medicine, for the period July 1, 1981 through April 30, 1982
- Mr. Ronald E. Comfort as Chairman, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, School of Education, for the period January 16, 1981 through May 31, 1985
- Mr. Robert D. Cross as Assistant Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, for one semester, effective January 16, 1981.
- Mr. Leopold Damrosch, Jr. as Member of the Center for Advanced Studies, for two years, effective July 1, 1981.
- Mr. William H. Fishback, Jr. as Associate Vice-President for University Relations, for five years, effective April 1, 1981.
