PROFESSORSHIPS WITH SPECIAL REMUNERATION
Referring to the proposals of Professor Emeritus Albert Balz for named
professorships (a subject considered by the Board on 9 September 1955, 4 February
1956, and subsequently), President Darden said that he wished to obligate for
special professorships the funds that have been raised by gifts for this purpose.
He requested authority to name several such professors in the University at large
and several in the School of Law, and to give them special compensation during the
summer months.
The Board resolved that the President be authorized to proceed in this matter.
