RESOLUTION CONCERNING SITE FOR NEURO-PSYCHIATRIC INSTITUTE

The following resolution was adopted:

  • WHEREAS the State Hospital Board has expressed interest in the location of a Neuro-psychiatric Institute upon land now owned by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia at Charlottesville;
  • AND WHEREAS Section 37.1-34.1 Code of Virginia (1950) (1973 Supp.) authorizes the State Hospital Board to establish such an institute within twenty-five miles of the territorial limit of the City of Charlottesville upon land which is acquired without cost to the Commonwealth;
  • NOW BE IT RESOLVED that The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia will convey to the State Hospital Board twenty acres of land, more or less, located at the Northwest boundary of the University of Virginia near the intersection of U.S. Routes 250 and 29 By-pass, this land being part of the Danielson Tract as described in Deed Books 293, p. 380, 283, p. 150 and p. 156 in the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Albemarle County, such conveyance to be made only when the proposed institute will be constructed upon the land and such deed to be subject to the express condition that if such construction is not commenced within five years from the date of delivery of the deed, then such property shall revert in fee simple to The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia.
