APPOINTMENTS

In accordance with the resolution adopted by the Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia on 14 July 1945, the President announced the following appointment:

  • Colonel James P. Robertson as Professor of Air Science, for three years, effective August 1969.

The following appointments were also announced:

  • Mr. Douglas W. Alden as Chairman, Department of Romance Languages and General Linguistics, for two years, effective 1 September 1969.
  • Mr. Dietrich Bodenstein as Chairman, Department of Biology, for four years, effective 1 September 1969.
  • Mr. John W. Boring as Assistant Director, Center for Advanced Studies, for one year, effective 1 August 1969.
  • Mr. Michael S. Caldwell as Associate Dean for Research and Instruction, School of Education, for three years, effective 1 July 1969.
  • Mr. William R. Carriker as Chairman, Department of Special Education, for four years, effective 1 September 1969.
  • Mr. Alan L. Caspar as Acting Director, Blandy Farm, for one year, effective 1 September 1969.
  • Mr. Glen L. Dunlap as Assistant Dean for Administration, Graduate School of Business Administration, for one year, effective 1 August 1969.
  • Mr. Robert L. Ellison as Chairman, Department of Geology, for three years, effective 1 February 1969.
  • Mr. Guy Estes as Director, Seward Forest, for three years, effective 1 September 1968.
  • Mr. Thomas J. Gates as Assistant Director, Counseling Center, for one year, effective 1 September 1969.
  • Mr. William J. Hargis, Jr., as Chairman, Department of Marine Science, for one year, effective 1 July 1969.
  • Mr. Warren D. Knapp as Director, Financial Aid to Students, for the period 15 December 1968 through 30 June 1973.
  • Mr. Clifford M. Siegel as Acting Chairman, Department of Electrical Engineering, for one semester, effective 1 February 1969.
  • Mr. T. Braxton Woody as Assistant Dean of the College, for one year, effective 1 September 1969.
  • Mr. David C. Yalden-Thomson as Acting Chairman, Department of Philosophy, for one semester, effective 1 February 1969.
