Dirty Pictures

The Dirty Picture Contest
which concerns pollution
rather than pornography is
now underway, sponsored by
Charlottesville Friends of the
Earth as part of Earth Week
activities. Friends of the Earth
members hope to gather
information about instances of
pollution in and around
Charlottesville.

The photographs entered
will be displayed in Newcomb
Hall during Earth Week, April
22-29, and may subsequently
be used in legal action against
polluters.

Photographs entered should
be at least 3½" by 3½" and
should include the location of
the photo (in Charlottesville or
Albemarle County), the source
of the pollution, and the name,
address, and phone number of
the entrant. They should be
turned in at the Director's
Office, fourth floor Newcomb
Hall, by Thursday April 12.

Prizes will be awarded for
each of two categories, color
and black and white. The first
prizes will be $20 gift
certificates from the Camera
Center and Cary's Camera
Shop. Second prizes will be
$10 in cash. There is no limit
to the number of entries per
person.
