Fiant, quæ fata uolunt.
Aske swaggring Saltus, Why he beares such sway?He'll answere thus; Things must be as they may.
Aske, How he comes so drunken day by day?
Againe sayes he, Things must be as they may.
Aske him the reason, Why no debts he'll pay?
The same replies, Things must be as they may.
Aske, Why so seldome he desires to pray?
Still he concludes, Things must be as they may.
Thus see you Saltus nothing else will say;
Should he be damn'd, It must be as it may.
