Emblem. 85. Peccatorum gradus.

The same in English.

The rider, whilest the horse doth pricke

Ier.12.5.

He runneth swift away
And foming, with his feet doth kicke,
Whome bridle can not stay.
He fear'th not armed man nor dart,
But trust'th by strength to play his part:
He that to sinne his minde doth bend,
Euen as an horse doth rage,
He can not learne to make an end,

His lust will not asswage:
As men a foote some sinners are,
To horsemen these you may compare.
