GSU Appeal Set

Only petitioners against the
Student Activities Committee
(SAC) allocation to the Gay
Student Union (GSU) and their
counsel and GSU officers and
their counsel will be admitted
into a SAC hearing Tuesday to
discuss the allocation, Student
Affairs Vice President D. Alan
Williams announced last night.

The meeting, originally
scheduled for 4 p.m., has been
changed to 5 p.m. to
accommodate certain GSU
members, Mr. Williams said.

The committee's procedure
in the hearing "is usually
informal," Mr. Williams said
"Each side will present their
arguments." He speculated that
those appealing the allocation
will probably speak first.

After discussion by both
sides, the committee will
question petitioners and GSU
officers, then adjourning for
deliberation.

Asked whether University
Legal Counsel Neill H. Alford,
Jr., would be present, Mr.
Williams said he has not "fully
discussed that with him. They
do have a lawyer on the
committee, Mr. Woltz."
