APPROVAL TO AMEND THE UNIVERSITY'S REFUND POLICY FOR
TUITION AND FEES, ROOM AND BOARD

  • The following resolution was adopted:
  • WHEREAS the Federal Reauthorization of Higher Education Act requires institutions of higher education to offer pro rata refunds through 60% of the semester for students completely withdrawing from school, who are attending the University for the first time and are receiving Title IV financial aid;
  • RESOLVED that the University's refund policy for tuition and fees, room and board be amended as follows:
  • Pro Rata Refund Policy
  • A student who is attending the University for the first time (undergraduate, graduate, or transfer), who is receiving Title IV financial aid, and who withdraws completely from the University, will be eligible for a pro rata refund as follows: applicable tuition, fees, room, and board charges will be pro-rated on a weekly basis for the first 60 percent for the semester. The Bursar's Office will deduct an administrative fee of $100 or 5% of the applicable charges, whichever is less, before processing the refund.

  • 4708

  • The actual percentage charged the student will be calculated by dividing the number of weeks the student has attended within the semester as determined by the last recorded date of attendance, by the number of academic weeks within the semester. After 60 percent of the semester has passed, no refunds will be granted.
