ACTIONS RELATING TO CHAIRHOLDERS

• The following resolution was adopted:
  RESOLVED that the actions relating to chairholders be and they are hereby approved as shown below:

• (a) Election of Chairholders

• Mr. Thomas J. Donaldson as Charles Stewart Sheppard Visiting Professor of Business Administration, effective September 1, 1988, for one academic year
• Dr. Kenneth E. Greer as Rick A. Moore Professor in the School of Medicine, effective September 1, 1988. Dr. Greer will continue as Professor of Dermatology.
• Mr. Roger C. Hood as John A. Ewald, Jr., Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law, for the period March 12, 1989 through April 28, 1989.
• Mr. Charles A. Ingene as Frank Talbott, Jr., Visiting Professor, effective September 1, 1988, for one academic year.
• Mr. Frederic L. Kirgis, Jr., as John A. Ewald, Jr., Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law, for one semester, effective January 16, 1989.
• Dr. Raymond F. Morgan as Milton T. Edgerton Professor of Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery, effective July 1, 1988.
• Mr. Bernard A. Morin as Morris Plan Chair of Consumer Banking, for the period July 1, 1988 through July 31, 1988. Mr. Morin will continue as Robert Hill Carter Professor of Marketing.
• Mr. William E. O'Connell, Jr., as Visiting Morris Plan Chair of Consumer Banking Professor of Commerce, effective September 1, 1988, for one semester.

• Dr. Andrew P. Somlyo as Charles Slaughter Professor of Physiology, and as Professor of Internal Medicine, for three years, effective July 1, 1988.
• Mr. Robert H. Trent as Morris Plan Chair of Consumer Banking, for the period June 1, 1988 through June 30, 1988. Mr. Trent will continue as the Robert Hill Carter Professor of Marketing.

• (b) Re-election of Chairholders

• Mr. Murray H. Finley, Eleanor F. and Philip G. Rust Visiting Professor of Business Administration, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1988.
• Mr. Herbert Hausmaninger as John A. Ewald, Jr., Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law, for the period September 1, 1988 through October 31, 1988.
• Mr. Frederick D. Nichols as Cary D. Langhorne Professor of Architecture, part-time, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1988.

• (c) Leave of Absence of Chairholders

• Mr. John A. C. Hetherington, David A. Harrison Professor of Law, for the period September 1, 1988 through May 31, 1989, without pay, to be visiting professor at the University of California at Hastings and Los Angeles.
• Mr. Stephen A. Saltzburg, Class of 1962 Professor of Law, for the period September 1, 1988 through January 15, 1989, without pay, to serve in the United States Department of Justice as Deputy Assistant Attorney General.
• Mr. G. Edward White, John Barbee Minor Professor of Law and Professor of History, without pay, for the period September 1, 1988 through January 15, 1989, to be visiting professor at New York Law School.
• Mr. Calvin Woodard, Henry L. and Grace Doherty Charitable Foundation Professor of Law, without pay, for the period January 16, 1989 through May 31, 1989, to be visiting professor at William and Mary College.

• Dr. David S. Fedson, from Harry T. Peters, Jr., Professor of Internal Medicine and Associate Professor of Internal Medicine to Harry T. Peters, Jr., Professor of Internal Medicine, effective July 1, 1988.

• (e) Resignation of Chairholders

• Mr. Verdel A. Kolve, William R. Kenan, Jr., Professor of English, effective May 31, 1988, to accept another position.
• Dr. David E. Longnecker, Harold Carron Professor of Anesthesiology, effective September 15, 1988, to accept another position.

• (f) Retirement of Chairholder

• Mr. George W. McKinney, Jr., Virginia Bankers Association Professor of Bank Management, effective January 15, 1988. Mr. McKinney has been a member of the faculty since September 1, 1982.
