REPORT ON LEGISLATIVE MATTERS
The President outlined some of the matters before the General Assembly that directly affect the University. One of these is a Bill authorizing the construction of a 650 student housing unit. He also discussed a Bill that would require the Governor to appoint a currently enrolled student to the Board, and a Bill on the Governance and control of State institutions in the Commonwealth. He advised that future requests to the General Assembly will emphasize faculty salaries, deferred maintenance, and upgrading the University's computer facilities.
