LEAVES OF ABSENCE

The following resolution was adopted:

  • RESOLVED by the Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the following faculty members be and they are hereby granted leave of absence:
  • Ms. Melinda J. Blauvelt, Assistant Professor of Art, for one semester, effective January 16, 1981, to conduct research.
  • Mr. Clifford E. Brubaker, Assistant Professor of Orthopedics, for the period September 1, 1980 through May 31, 1981, for personal reasons.
  • Mr. Thomas I. Crowell, Professor of Chemistry, for one semester, effective January 16, 1981, in accordance with the Board of Visitors' approved half-time retirement agreement.
  • Mr. Eleftherios N. Economou, Professor of Physics, for one semester, effective January 16, 1981, for research at the University of Lausanne.
  • Mr. Hupert P. Hooper, Associate Professor of Commerce, for one semester, effective January 15, 1981, to do research and writing.
  • Mr. John A. James, Associate Professor of Economics, for one semester, effective January 16, 1981, to accept visiting position at Stanford University.
  • Mr. Harold B. Johnson, Jr., Associate Professor of History, for one semester, effective January 16, 1981, to conduct research.
  • Mr. Alden R. Kuhlthau, Professor of Civil Engineering, for one semester, effective January 16, 1981, to work with the state and local communities.
  • Miss Elizabeth L. Langhorne, Assistant Professor of Art History, for one semester, effective January 16, 1981, to conduct research.
