ACTIONS RELATING TO CHAIRHOLDERS

• (a) Election to Chairs:

• The following resolution was adopted:
  RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the following persons be and they are hereby elected to the named chairs as shown below:
• Mrs. E. Mavis Hetherington as James M. Page Professor of Psychology, effective September 1, 1980.
• Dr. Wilford W. Spradlin as Alumni Professor of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry, effective July 1, 1979.

• (b) Change of Title

• The following resolution was adopted:
  RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the following change of title be and it is hereby made:
• Mr. James E. Deese, from Commonwealth Professor of Psychology, to Hugh Scott Hamilton Professor of Psychology, effective September 1, 1980.

• (c) Leave of Absence

• The following resolution was adopted:
  RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the following persons be and they are hereby granted leave of absence:
• Mr. Joseph E. Gibson, Peat, Marwick, Mitchell Professor of Commerce, for the period January 16, 1980, through May 31, 1980, to be Visiting Professor in the Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Michigan.

• Mr. Herbert Stein, A. Willis Robertson Professor of Economics, for one year, effective January 16, 1980, to write a book.
