LEAVES OF ABSENCE

  • The following resolution was adopted:
    RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the following faculty members be and they are hereby granted leave of absence:
  • Mr. Harvey B. Aronson, Assistant Professor of Religious Studies, for the period January 16, 1980, through May 31, 1980, and September 1, 1980, through January 15, 1981, to accept a Fulbright grant in India.
  • Mr. James Ceaser, Assistant Professor of Government and Foreign Affairs, for one year, effective January 16, 1980, to accept a fellowship sponsored by the American Historical Association and the American Political Science Association.

  • Mr. John C. Coleman, Assistant Professor of English, for one semester, effective January 16, 1981, for study and travel.
  • Mr. Joseph E. Gibson, Peat, Marwick, Mitchell Professor of Commerce, for the period January 16, 1980 through May 31, 1980, to be visiting Professor in the Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Michigan.
  • Mr. John W. Israel, Associate Professor of History, for one semester, effective January 16, 1980, to pursue research.
  • Mr. Enno E. Kraehe, William W. Corcoran Professor of History, for one semester, effective January 16, 1980, to pursue research.
  • Mr. George A. McAlpine, Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering, for one year, effective July 1, 1980, for personal reasons.
  • Dr. David E. Rosenman, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Psychiatrist, Department of Student Health, for the period October 11, 1979, through October 31, 1979, for personal reasons.
  • Mr. Herbert Stein, A. Willis Robertson Professor of Economics, for one year, effective January 16, 1980, to write a book.
  • Ms. Renate Voris, Assistant Professor of German, for the period September 1, 1979, through January 15, 1980, for medical reasons.
  • Mr. James H. Wilkinson, III, Associate Professor of Law, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1979, to serve on the editorial staff of the Virginian-Pilot newspaper in Norfolk.
