RESOLUTION REGARDING ADMISSION GUIDELINES

The following resolution was adopted:

  • RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the following statement be and it is hereby approved:

On October 13, 1972 the Board of Visitors, in order to assure the admission of qualified Virginia residents, directed that the number of out-of-State students admitted to the University for the several years to follow be limited to the number entering for the fall 1972 session.

After review of the effects of this limitation, the Board reaffirms its policy and directs that offers of admission to out-of-State applicants continue to be limited to such numbers as to assure that offers of admission continue to be made to all qualified Virginians.
