LEAVES OF ABSENCE
The following resolution was adopted:
- RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the following faculty members be and they are hereby granted leave of absence:
- Mr. William L. Breit, Professor of Economics, for one semester, effective January 16, 1975, to serve as Visiting Professor at the University of Texas, Austin.
- Mr. Jon C. Crocker, Associate Professor of Anthropology and of Sociology, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1974, to teach at the University of Paris.
- Mr. Walter Hauser, Associate Professor of History, for one semester, effective January 16, 1975, to carry out research.
- Mr. A. E. Dick Howard, Professor of Law, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1974, to accept a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship at the Smithsonian Institution.
- Mr. Douglas P. Howard, Associate Professor of Education, for the period January 1, 1975, through May 31, 1975, to continue the special project in Australia.
- Mr. Alexandre Kafka, Professor of Economics, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1974, to continue service as Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund.
- Mr. David E. Powell, Associate Professor of Government and Foreign Affairs, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1974, to accept a research grant from the United States Government to study alcoholic abuse in the Soviet Union at the Russian Research Institute, Harvard University.
- Dr. Hans O. Riddervold, Associate Professor of Radiology, one-half time, for one year, effective September 1, 1974, to carry out research.
- Mr. Peter H. Taylor, Commonwealth Professor of English, for one semester, effective January 16, 1975, to serve as Visiting Professor at Harvard University.
- Dr. Vamik D. Volkan, Professor of Psychiatry, one-half time, for one year, effective October 1, 1974, to serve as Visiting Professor at the University of Ankara.
- Mr. Leland B. Yeager, Paul Goodloe McIntire Professor of Economics, for one semester, effective January 16, 1975, to serve as Visiting Professor at the Univeristy of California, Los Angeles.
- Mr. Lev Zetlin, University Professor of Architecture and of Civil Engineering, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1974, to take care of professional activities away from the University.
