ELECTION OF MR. FRANK LOUCKS HEREFORD, JR. AS PRESIDENT

Upon motion of Visitor Potter and duly seconded by Visitor Wright Harrison, the following resolution was unanimously adopted:

• RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that Frank Loucks Hereford, Jr. be and he is hereby elected President of the University of Virginia, effective 1 September 1974.
• Visitor French, who was unavoidably absent, requested that an entry be included in these minutes indicating that he would have voted for the election of Mr. Hereford if he had been present at the meeting.
