VINCENT ESTATE - SPOIL DISPOSAL SERVITUDE

Mr. Shea informed the meeting that the Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans had requested a temporary spoil disposal servitude on certain lands situated in the St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, in which the University owns an undivided interest. Mr. Shea explained that the land on which a servitude was requested had heretofore been subject to a previous temporary servitude granted by the University and all of the co-owners to the Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans which said servitude had expired; that the proposed servitude is substantially in the same form as the one which had expired; that the other co-owners had executed or agreed to execute the proposed servitude and he recommended to the Board that the University authorize its representative to execute the proposed servitude on its behalf.

After discussion, the following resolution was adopted:

  • RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that Richard W. Gamble, the representative of the University, be and he is hereby authorized on behalf of the University to execute a temporary spoil disposal servitude in favor of the Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans with respect to lands in which the University owns an interest situated in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, substantially in the form of the servitude heretofore executed under the date of April 21, 1959.
