AMENDMENT TO RESOLUTION OF JUNE 4, 1971 CONTINUING AN INCREMENT
OF $5.00 IN THE COMPREHENSIVE FEE FOR FIFTEEN YEARS
In June 1971, the Board increased the Comprehensive Fee by $5.00 per session, effective for the 1971-72 session, to continue for a period of five years, the proceeds to be used solely for the purpose of remodeling Newcomb Hall.
In planning for the development of Lambeth Field housing a building has been designed to provide student activity space. Also certain lounges and meetings rooms have been included in the design of the new dining facility located adjacent to the Alderman and Observatory dormitories. To pay for these facilities, it is proposed that the $5.00 fee increase approved in 1971 for a five-year period be continued in effect for an additional period of fifteen years.
The following resolution was adopted:
- RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the $5.00 increase in the Comprehensive Fee approved in 1971 for a five-year period be continued in effect until 1991, and that the proceeds therefrom, after the initial five-year period, be used to amortize the cost of student activity space being provided on Lambeth Field and in the Observatory Dining Facility.
