GRANT FOR MARY WASHINGTON COLLEGE

The President requested that consent be given to the consideration of a resolution authorizing Mary Washington College to apply for a Federal grant, a resolution which had not been included on the docket for this meeting. Without dissent permission for consideration was given and the following resolution was adopted:

• RESOLVED by the Board of Visitors of The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that an application for the project described above is authorized and directed to be filed with the Virginia Commission on Higher Education Facilities, with the understanding that if upon due consideration by said Commission, applying the criteria of the State plan, said application receives a priority rating sufficiently high to receive grant funds under the aforementioned act, said application will be forwarded to the U. S. Commissioner of Education for consideration and his approval; and
• BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the governing body of the applicant designates Grellet C. Simpson, Chancellor of Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia, as the person authorized to file the application and act as the representative of the applicant in connection with said application.
