GRANT FOR ARTS AND SCIENCES CLASSROOM BUILDING

The President requested that consent be given to the consideration of a resolution authorizing the University of Virginia to apply for a Federal grant for the Arts and Sciences Classroom Building, a resolution which had not been included on the docket for this meeting. Without dissent permission for consideration was given and the following resolution was adopted:

• RESOLVED by the Board of Visitors of The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the President or Comptroller be, and either of them is hereby authorized to apply to the Department of Health, Education and Welfare for a grant under Title I of Public Law 88-204 (Higher Education Facilities Act of 1963 as amended by the Higher Education Act of 1965) not to exceed $375,000 to be used for the construction of the Arts and Sciences Classroom Building.
