REPORT OF THE MANUAL COMMITTEE

The Chairman of the Manual Committee, Lawrence Lewis, Jr., on behalf of his fellow Committee members, Charles R. Fenwick, J. Sloan Kuykendall, E. Sclater Montague, Edgar F. Shannon, Jr., and Lewis M. Walker, Jr., submitted a draft of a Manual for the Board of Visitors with the recommendation that it be adopted. He explained that the draft, a copy of which had previously been mailed to each Visitor, had been revised in part at a meeting of the Committee earlier that morning and he therefore asked the Secretary to present the changes that had been made in order that each Visitor might make the proper notation on his copy. Following this presentation the Manual was considered in detail, after which the following resolution was adopted without dissent:

• RESOLVED by the Board of Visitors of The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the draft of the Manual of the Board of Visitors as presented to and revised at this meeting be and it is hereby approved, effective 26 February 1966, as the official Manual of the Board of Visitors;
• RESOLVED, further, that the President and the Secretary be and they are hereby authorized to rearrange the listing of the duties and powers of the Board of Visitors in Sec. 2.4 of the Manual in order to provide more logical groupings of these powers and duties; and
• RESOLVED, further, that the Secretary be and he is hereby authorized to arrange for the printing of the Manual in hardback form.
