[And now I will begin to declare]
And now I will begin to declareWhat the conveniences of the Iack are.
First, when a gang of good fellows do meet,
As oft at a fair, or a wake, you shall see't;
They resolve to have some merry carouses,
And yet to get home in good time to their houses;
Then the bottle it runs as slow as my rhime,
With Iack, they might have all been drunk in good time.
And I wish his soul in peace may dwell,
That first devised that speedy vessel.
