MOTIONS FOR EXECUTIVE SESSIONS

The following motions were unanimously adopted by vote of all Visitors present:

• (a) That the Finance Committee of the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for Item Number 15 on that Committee's agenda for the discussion of matters relating to gifts, bequests and fund-raising activities, as provided for in Section 2.1-344(a) (7) of the Virginia Code.
• (b) That the Finance Committee of the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for Item Number 16 on that Committee's agenda for the discussion of investing of public funds where competition or bargaining are involved, where if made public initially, the financial interests of the University would be adversely affected, as provided for in Section 2.1-344(a) (5) of the Virginia Code.
• (c) That the Finance Committee of the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for Item Number 14 on that Committee's agenda for the discussion and the consideration of the condition, use and disposition of publicly held real property in Chattanooga and New Orleans and for the acquisition of real property for future expansion of the Medical Center as provided for in Section 2.1-344(a)(2) of the Virginia Code.
• (d) That the Educational Policy Committee of the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for Item Number 8 on that Committee's agenda for the consideration of personnel matters involving assignment, appointment, promotion, salaries and resignation of University officers, appointees or employees, as provided for in Section 2.1-344(a)(1) of the Virginia Code.
• (e) That the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for Item Number 1 b, on the agenda of the Preliminary Meeting of the Board for consultation with legal counsel pertaining to actual and potential litigation, or other legal matters within the jurisdiction of the Board, as provided for in Section 2.1-344(a)(6) of the Virginia Code.

• (f) That the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for Item Number 1 a, on the Board's Agenda for its Preliminary Meeting for the discussion or consideration of the assignment, appointment or promotion of a public officer, as provided for in Section 2.1-344(a)(1) of the Virginia Code.

Following a recess for an Executive Session of the Board of Visitors, the Open Session continued at 9:32 a.m., on March 25, 1982.
