The following resolution was adopted:

• RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the following faculty members be and they are hereby granted leave of absence:
• Ms. Melinda Blauvelt, Assistant Professor of Art, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1982, to finish some research projects.

• Mr. Richard F. DeMong, Associate Professor of Commerce, for the period January 25, 1982 through May 31, 1982, to attend the Armed Forces Staff College in Norfolk.
• Ms. Marcy R. Edelstein, Assistant Professor of Art, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1982, to complete a series of drawings.
• Mr. Paul J. Hopkins, Associate Professor of Religious Studies, for one semester, effective January 16, 1982, for research on a Fullbright Scholarship.
• Mr. Robert E. Johnson, Associate Professor of Engineering Physics, School of Engineering and Applied Science, for one semester, effective January 15, 1982, for research and writing.
• Mr. Paul Light, Assistant Professor of Government and Foreign Affairs, part-time, for one semester, effective January 16, 1982, for research at the American Enterprise Institute.
• Mr. Keith P.F. Moxey, Associate Professor of Art, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1982, to pursue research on an Humboldt Fellowship in Berlin.
• Dr. Ferid Murad, Professor of Medicine and Professor of Pharmacology, for the period January 1, 1982 through June 30, 1982, for personal reasons.
• Ms. Gladys E. Saunders, Assistant Professor of French, part-time, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1982, for research.
