At church and hear Mr. Meade....He is down on the extortioners and speculators who are now draining our land and it is time for all who have any patriotism, any Christianity in their hearts, to come out boldly and denounce them for without help from on High it must be the rock on which we must split yet. May God turn from us this evil and put it into our hearts to do right ...[Letters written.] Read [Joel] Barlow's Strange Story . It's well named for a stranger one I never read.
