No church. Finish reading Eliajah the Gishbit. Sister Betty has another son born last night, Saturday, 13th. I'm puzzled about a name for the young man unless she goes back to the old Dutch ancester and calls him Doodes. Hear the marrying man [Louisa's cousin, Henry Lewis] is positively to be "off the carpet" next week. Sue, Mary Lewis, Jim and I have an invite to the affair at Glen Castle [the Creek Farm] on the 25th. Mary Lewis at home. Jim goes to Richmond on Friday to see the inauguration of the statue of Washington on the 22nd. Expect Richmond will be a gay place about that time. Sue and I had our invitation but declined as we made such a visitation in the Fall. Finish reading Hugh Miller's Schools and Schoolmasters. His style is simplicity itself. Wrote to Miss Vallant, S.P.
