ACTIONS RELATING TO CHAIRHOLDERS

• The following resolution was adopted:
  RESOLVED that the actions relating to chairholders be and they are hereby approved as shown below:

• (a) Elections of Chairholders

• Mr. Kenneth S. Abraham as Horace W. Goldsmith Research Professor of Law, effective July 1, 1989, for two years. Mr. Abraham will continue as Class of 1962 Professor of Law.
• Mr. John C. Jeffries, Jr., as John V. Ray Professor of Law, effective July 1, 1989, for two years. Mr. Jeffries will continue as Emerson G. Spies Professor of Law.
• Ms. B. Jeanette Lancaster as Sadie Heath Cabiness Professor of Nursing, effective August 1, 1989.
• Mr. Saul X. Levmore as Barron F. Black Research Professor of Law, effective July 1, 1989, for two years. Mr. Levmore will continue as Professor of Law.
• Mr. Richard A. Merrill as Albert Clark Tate, Jr., Professor of Law, effective July 1, 1989, for two years. Mr. Merrill will continue as Daniel Caplin Professor of Law.
• Mr. Anthony C. Spearing as William R. Kenan, Jr., Professor of English, effective September 1, 1989.

• (b) Leave of Absence of Chairholders

• Mr. George P. Garrett, Henry Hoyns Professor of Creative Writing, for the period January 16, 1990 through January 15, 1991, with partial pay, to work on a book.
• Mr. David A. Shannon, Commonwealth Professor of History, for the period March 1, 1989 through May 31, 1989, without pay, for personal reasons.
