RE-ELECTIONS
The following resolution was adopted
RESOLVED by the Board of Visitors of The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia
that the following persons be and they are hereby re-elected to the faculty.
Mr. Francis J. Brooke as Assistant Professor of Germanic Languages and Russian, for three
years, effective 1 September 1961.
Mr. David H. Davis as Assistant Professor of Music, for three years, effective 1 September
1961.
Mr. Gary Seamans Dunbar as Assistant Professor of Geography, for three years, effective
1 September 1961.
Mr. Robert Lee Ellison as Assistant Professor of Geology, for three years, effective
1 September 1961
Mr. Johan Anton Friedericy as Associate Professor of Civil Engineering, effective
1 September 1961.
Mr. Omer Allan Gianniny as Assistant Professor of English in the School of Engineering,
for three years, effective 1 September 1961.
Mr. Fred Campbell McCormick as Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering, for three years,
effective 1 September 1961.
Mr. George Bostert Matthews as Associate Professor of Aeronautical Engineering, effective
1 September 1961.
Mr. Walter Bedford Moore, III, as Assistant Professor of English in the School of Engineering,
for three years, effective 1 September 1961.
Mr. Cornelius Francis Murphy, Jr., as Instructor in Law, half-time, for one year, effective
1 September 1961, at a salary of $3,000.
Mr. Edgar F. Thorne as Visiting Associate Professor of Art, for one year, effective 1 September
1961.
Mr. Theodore Turner as Assistant Professor of Art, for three years, effective 1 September 1961.
Mr. Bartholomeus van't Riet as Assistant Professor of Chemistry, for three years, effective
1 September 1961.
Mr. David W. Weiss as Assistant Professor of Speech and Drama, for three years, effective
1 September 1961.
