EXPLORING COLLABORATIVE OPPORTUNITIES WITH OTHER HEALTH
CARE PROFESSIONALS AND INSTITUTIONS

  • The following resolution was adopted:
  • WHEREAS health care reform is a national and state priority; and
  • WHEREAS in House Joint Resolution 623, the General Assembly has requested that each state teaching hospital develop long-term policy options for its role in the delivery of indigent care and medical education in an increasingly managed health care environment;
  • NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center should explore (a) ways to assure an adequate primary care network and (b) collaborative opportunities, including the development of a regional health care system, with other physicians, health care provider institutions, and other appropriate groups with the goal of enhancing health and managing health care costs for the citizens in our region, with the understanding that any plan, approach, and/or concept is subject to the approval of the President.
