LEAVES OF ABSENCE
- The following resolution was adopted:
RESOLVED that the following faculty members be and they are hereby granted leave of absence: - Mr. Alex J. Baertschi, Associate Professor of Physiology, for the period January 1, 1990 through December 31, 1990, with partial pay, to do research.
- Mr. Lee B. Crigler, Assistant Professor, General Faculty, for the period November 1, 1989 through October 31, 1991, without pay, to pursue doctoral degree.
- Mr. Jay W. Fox, Associate Professor of Microbiology, for the period February 1, 1990 through January 31, 1991, with partial pay, to accept fellowship at the Max Planck Institut Fur Biochemie.
- Mr. Michael Garstang, Professor of Environmental Sciences, for the period February 16, 1990 through May 31, 1990, without pay, to accept a fellowship at the University of Cantebury.
- Mr. John Graham, Associate Professor of Rhetoric, for the period September 1, 1990 through May 31, 1991, without pay, to do research.
- Dr. Jack M. Gwaltney, Jr., Professor of Internal Medicine, for the period July 1, 1990 through December 31, 1990, with pay, to do research.
- Mr. Thomas T. Hammond, Professor of History, for the period September 1, 1990 through May 31, 1991, with partial pay, to continue to qualify for the early retirement plan as approved by the Board of Visitors.
- Ms. Leslie D. Hurt, Assistant Professor, General Faculty, for the period November 1, 1989 through October 31, 1991, without pay, to pursue doctoral degree.
- Mr. John A. James, Professor of Economics, for the period January 16, 1990 through May 31, 1990, with partial pay, to accept a Guggenheim Fellowship.
- Ms. Sally A. Moody, Associate Professor of Anatomy and Cell Biology and Associate Professor of Neuroscience, for the period January 1, 1990 through June 30, 1990, with pay, for personal reasons.
- Mr. James W. Moore, Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, for the period January 16, 1990 through January 15, 1991, with partial pay, to continue to qualify for the early retirement plan as approved by the Board of Visitors.
- Mr. G. Carleton Ray, Research Professor of Environmental Sciences, for the period December 1, 1989 through March 31, 1990, with partial pay, because program funds are not in hand.
